Build a career,
not just a job.
Skilled-trade freedom. Flexible schedules. Real income. Dent College graduates choose how, where, and for whom they work — from mobile routes to storm-chasing crews to owning the shop.
Six lanes. One trade.
There's no single way to build a career in PDR. Pick the lane that matches the lifestyle you want.
Mobile PDR Technician
Run a mobile route servicing dealers, body shops, and retail customers. Set your own schedule, build recurring accounts, work outdoors.
Hail Catastrophe Technician
Travel with hail crews to storm-hit cities. High-volume, matrix-pay work that compresses a year of income into a few peak months.
Independent Contractor (1099)
Sub-contract for hail co's, dealer groups, or body shops. Keep flexibility, choose your gigs, scale up or down on your terms.
Dealership Technician
W-2 stability inside a dealership group or body shop. Benefits, consistent hours, and a built-in pipeline of work.
Business Owner
Open your own shop or scale a multi-truck mobile operation. Hire and train techs, build a brand, and own the equity.
Mentor / Trainer Path
Master technicians return as mentors and lead instructors — coaching the next generation while keeping a hand in the trade.
The freedom of a real trade
Trade work used to mean punching a clock. Modern PDR is the opposite — flexible, mobile, and scalable.
Flexible schedule
Set your own hours. Take Friday off. Work mornings only. The trade bends around your life — not the other way around.
Travel opportunities
Hail-cat work pays you to chase storms across the country. See the U.S. while building a six-figure season.
Independent work
No cubicle, no manager looking over your shoulder. Most days it's you, your tools, and the next car.
Business ownership
From a single mobile truck to a multi-bay shop — graduates regularly graduate into ownership inside 2–3 years.
Income potential
Entry techs realistically earn $55–80K. Established mobile and hail techs clear $120–250K. Owners scale higher.
Career scalability
Add accounts, hire help, expand into adjacent services. The ceiling is what you build it to be.
Own the truck. Own the shop. Own the brand.
A serious chunk of our graduates don't take a job — they build one. Here's what that path looks like.
Start a mobile repair business
Begin with a single truck and a tool kit. Most owners we work with hit profitability inside 90 days of launch.
Build a recurring client base
Dealers, body shops, fleet accounts, and retail referrals stack into a predictable weekly route.
Equipment & tools overview
We walk you through the exact starter kit, glue pulling rigs, lighting, and rod sets that working pros use day one.
Branding & marketing
Naming, logo basics, Google Business Profile, fleet wraps, and the local SEO playbook for service businesses.
Pricing & estimating
Matrix pricing, retail tickets, dealer rates — how to quote work that's profitable without scaring off customers.
Self-employment flexibility

What life looks like after Dent College
Cubicle to truck cab. Graduated in March, deployed to Texas storms by April. Cleared $182k my first season.
Coming out of the Army I needed structure and purpose. The trade gave me both — and a paycheck I'm proud of.
Built a five-account dealer route in 11 months. Now I sub a second tech and I'm hunting a third truck.
Coach Little League, fish on Fridays, work 4 days a week. The trade lets me design my schedule around my family.
One season chasing storms — Colorado, Texas, Oklahoma, Nebraska. Saw the country and cleared $140K.
Sold the first truck after 3 years for a real downpayment. Now I run a small crew and mentor incoming vets.

The questions everyone asks
Can I do this full time?+
Yes. Most graduates work PDR full time within weeks of certification — whether on a mobile route, in a shop, or chasing hail storms.
Can I start my own business?+
Absolutely. Many of our graduates launch a mobile PDR business in their first year. Our career resources cover routing, pricing, dealer outreach, insurance and licensing.
Do I need automotive experience?+
No prior automotive experience is required. Our hands-on curriculum starts at the fundamentals and builds you into a working tech.
How long until I can work?+
Our intensive certification gets graduates working in as little as 10 days. Most are earning income within 30–90 days of completion.
Can I travel for work?+
Yes. Hail catastrophe work is travel-based by design — graduates regularly deploy across the country chasing storm seasons for premium pay.
Does Dent College guarantee placement?+
We don't guarantee placement, but our hiring partner network and active job board put graduates in front of vetted employers from day one.
What support do I get after graduation?+
Mentor matching, resume help, employer introductions, business launch resources, and lifetime access to the alumni network.
What's hail catastrophe (cat) work?+
When a major hail storm hits, hail companies mobilize crews to travel and repair thousands of vehicles. It's high-intensity, high-earning work — and how many techs build their first six-figure year.
The trade is waiting.
Pick the lane. We'll train you, place you, and back you for the long haul.
